Type 1 diabetes — live better with it, alongside your insulin
Insulin keeps you alive. We help with everything around it — the swings, the tiredness, the food confusion and the constant worry.
Type 1 diabetes means the body's immune system has damaged the cells that make insulin. Insulin is not optional, and nothing replaces it — not diet, not Ayurveda, not anything you read online.
But insulin alone doesn't make life with type 1 easy. Wild highs after meals. Frightening lows at night. Weight creeping up. Digestion, sleep and stress all pulling your numbers around. That is where we come in.
What we help with
Steadier sugar — a way of eating built around your insulin, so fewer spikes and fewer crashes. Steadier days often mean your diabetologist can fine-tune your doses.
Digestion and appetite — slow or unpredictable digestion makes insulin timing a guessing game. In Ayurveda, strong and regular agni (digestive fire) is the foundation; we work on it directly.
Energy, sleep and stress — stress hormones push sugar up; poor sleep makes it harder to control. Both can be improved.
Weight — many people with type 1 gain weight over the years on insulin, and it makes control harder. We help you bring it down safely.
Protecting the rest of your body — blood pressure, cholesterol, kidneys and nerves. Keeping these healthy matters as much as your sugar.
Support for families — for parents of children and teens with type 1, we help with food, routine and the day-to-day, always alongside your child's diabetologist.
We measure what your pancreas is doing
Most people with type 1 never find out how much insulin their own pancreas still makes. We check it.
C-peptide is released every time your pancreas makes its own insulin, so it shows your body's own production even while you inject. We measure it when you start and again every 3–6 months, so you and your diabetologist can see exactly what is happening — in numbers, not guesses.
Many people, especially in the first years after diagnosis, still make some insulin of their own. Protecting what's left — through steadier sugar, less stress on the system and better overall health — is worth doing.
Told you have type 2 — but tablets stopped working fast?
You may have LADA — "latent autoimmune diabetes in adults", a slow form of type 1 that starts in adulthood. It's often mistaken for type 2, especially in India.
Signs it might be LADA:
- Diagnosed after 30, often not overweight
- Tablets worked at first, then stopped working within a few years
- Sugar rising quickly despite doing everything right
Two blood tests — GAD antibodies and C-peptide — tell the difference. Knowing which one you have changes everything about the right plan. If it's type 2 and you're on insulin, see type 2 diabetes on insulin →

Questions people ask us
Can Ayurveda reverse type 1 diabetes? No — and anyone who tells you otherwise is putting your life at risk. Type 1 needs insulin. What we offer is better control, more energy and fewer bad days, alongside it.
Will I need less insulin? Sometimes steadier eating and weight loss mean your diabetologist lowers your dose. That is their decision, based on your readings — never ours, and never yours alone.
Can children join? We work with parents, and only alongside the child's diabetologist.
I live outside India. Can I join? Yes. Consultations are by video or phone, and your medicines are shipped to you anywhere in the world.

Disclaimer: Results vary from person to person. Type 1 diabetes always needs insulin — never stop, skip or reduce insulin except on your diabetologist's advice. Our care is supportive and works alongside your insulin. If you have high sugar with vomiting, stomach pain, fast breathing or drowsiness, go to a hospital immediately — these can be signs of diabetic ketoacidosis.
